We have only around 10 years to radically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and, by the middle of this century, ensure that the European and World economy and society develop in a carbon neutral manner. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PROJECT RELEVANCE AND CONTEXT<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

Climate change affects all regions around the world. All countries from the V4 region are not excluded of the influence. Adapting to the many changes that European society faces, is a challenge, but it is also an opportunity for synergies and benefits if the countries implement adaptation measures in a coherent way. Achieving this, requires continued efforts to mainstream adaptation in many environmental and sectoral policies, regarding both policy development and implementation, and working towards similar goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project will offer opportunities for addressing climate change, including cities, sub-national authorities, civil society and private sector. The main focus will be on the importance of cooperation in order to scale up the join regional efforts and support actions to reduce emission as well as promote regional cooperation. The project outputs will improve regional strategies addressing environmental challenges by support of local communities, an incentives for sustainable and\/or alternative energy sources and good practices will be promoted. An increased number of institutional networks for enhancing regional cohesion by departure from coal, for renewable energy sources from a long-term perspective will be ensured, as well as increased number of town twinning initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Project Societies of the 4 Visegrad countries on the path of the energy and climate change<\/strong><\/em> is directed torepresentatives of social and environmental NGOs, representatives of groups\/ business involved in RES, EE, local authorities, Media representatives, Citizens of the V4 region.
– We are planning following activities in framework of the project: Expert meeting for preparation of 8 mini reports, reparation of a databases in individual countries related to target groups – NGOs, groups\/ business involved in RES, EE, climate protection and the media and Database on good practices in the V4 and other EU countries related to energy transformation , Preparation of eight (8) mini reports on energy transformation and preparation for climate change in the V4 countries, Press conference, Partner workshop for preparation of a common statement of V4 countries, Presentation Workshop in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia and Conference in Poland dedicated to social and environmental NGOs, groups\/ business involved in RES, EE, climate protection organizations, representatives of local authorities, media and citizens
– Dissemination and promotion throw website, were we update all news and information about project development phases. We are planning as well development of web based search tool for the need of the databases in individual countries related to target groups. A web application will be developed in order to ensure access to information projects and initiatives occurring at the V4 region and increase the knowledge among different target groups and Small scale media campaign in all V4 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project Societies of the 4 Visegrad countries on the path of the energy and climate change<\/strong><\/em> is the result of a partnership established between organizations from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Projects partners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Poland<\/em> – The Ecological Association EKO-UNIA was established in 1994 in Gliwice. In 2001 EKO-UNIA expanded their work in to Wroc\u0142aw. The main area of interest of the Association is to promote the integration of the Green movement tackling different area like waste management, energy renewal sources, climate changes, international cooperation and development of rural areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Czech Republic<\/em> – Hnut\u00ed DUHA – Friends of the Earth Czech Republic, with more than 24 years of experience, Hnut\u00ed DUHA successfully promotes environmental solutions to ensure a healthy and clean environment; focuses especially on the fields of energy and climate protection, resources and nature protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Slovakia<\/em> – Slovensk\u00e1 organiz\u00e1cia pre obnovite\u013en\u00e9 zdroje energie, n.o. \/ The Slovak Renewable Energy Agency (SK REA) is a NGO established in 2006 in order to promote the development of renewable energy sources in Slovakia. The organization is committed to implementation of activities which help raise awareness on energy-efficient solutions and support of the dialogue between the private sector and political sphere, regarding issues of economic and legislative support of such technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Hungary<\/em> – Magyar Term\u00e9szetv\u00e9d\u0151k Sz\u00f6vets\u00e9ge (MTVSZ) founded in 1989, NSC-FoE Hungary is an umbrella organization with 100 member associations across HU, with 30,000 members. MTVSZ\u2019s climate-energy team, led by Botar organized several national awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns on climate and energy transformation since 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EKO-UNIA has a broad range of environmental projects. Currently in a process of implementation are 2 project \u201eYES to Development \u2013 NO to Opencast mines\u201d and \u201cThe guards of good condition of water \u2013 monitoring of environmental regulations\u201d, both implemented in Poland. Both projects involved cooperation with representatives of associations, NGOs, local governments and civil initiatives. The projects are focused on creating platform for activities related to prevention of building new open cast lignite mines and negative effects, in order to drive transformation of European countries from fossil fuels to renewable energy and monitoring and evaluation of current regulation and policies. The projects involve networking of stakeholders, sustainable development, renewable energy and climate protection, water condition, as well as regulation and policy evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National conference 10.01.2018 – Warszawa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

10.01.2019 as part of the project, a national conference in Warsaw was held where mini reports were presented.<\/p>\n\n\n
