Securitas is relatively young NGO based in Bitola. The organization focuses on 1) security, 2) environment and energy security, 3) migration and 4) gender equality in the security sector. They collaborate with a few organizations in Macedonia, including Youth Forum Bitola. Securitas is currently seeking funding for environmental security (energy efficiency) and climate change projects. Among others, they are applying to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (Civica Mobilitas), US Embassy in Skopje, which, to a large extent, funds ecological projects in Macedonia.
Position on the International Coalition project “Development Yes – Opencast Mines No”:
- they are interested in collaborating; they think the coalition is important and necessary, also for new organizations who are interested in international collaboration;
- as they are a young organization with little experience, an exchange of experiences with other organizations would be helpful;
- they wish to remain in contact and to be informed of the project’s progress.
